The actor took to Instagram to share a carousel post that contrasted her on-screen appearance with her real-life skin. The images highlighted the difference between professionally styled shoots, complete with makeup and editing in comparison to her everyday look.
The photos were thoughtfully labeled, beginning with “skin that looks like this,” showing Dananeer in full glam, followed by “can also end up looking like this,” revealing close-up shots of bare face with acne.
The actor captioned the post, “can we all just be kinder please? Please?”
“My skin went through a lot these past few months — harsh lights, makeup every day, wrong treatments, and just being in my early 20s with hormones. It went from glass skin to breakouts to really bad acne. But it’s finally healing now”, Dananeer shared.
She added that her online image doesn’t always reflect reality: “I know I don’t always look like my filtered photos, but that’s actually because I’m human. The scrutiny online can be intense, especially for young women in the spotlight. Sometimes we forget that there are real people behind the pictures”.
She concluded her message with a simple appeal: “A little more kindness would go a long way.”
The actor’s candid post was widely appreciated, with many praising her for addressing a common yet often stigmatised issue, particularly as a public figure often perceived as flawless.
Dananeer first rose to fame in 2021 after a video of her went viral for the phrase “Pawri ho rahi hai”. She has since appeared in popular dramas such as Sinf-e-Aahan (2021) and Meem Se Mohabbat (2024).
