ISLAMABAD: Pregabalin-containing medications cannot be sold without a valid prescription, according to the Health Department of Islamabad’s Pharmacy Services and Drug Control. Pharmacies and pharmacists are instructed to rigorously adhere to the restrictions.

The Pharmacy Services and Drug Control section’s advisory to the public and pharmacists states that the restriction is being implemented in accordance with guidelines issued on July 10, 2026.

All licensed pharmacies and pharmacists have been directed to dispense pregabalin-containing medicines only against valid prescriptions.

The department stressed that compliance with the directive was essential to protect public health and promote the safe use of medicines.

Additionally, it advised the public to follow medical guidance to guarantee the safe use of prescription medications and to consult trained medical professionals before getting them.
