The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has transferred PKR 20 million ($71,000 approximately) as advance foreign daily allowance to the bank accounts of national team players and coaching staff ahead of their departure for the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 in Belgium and the Netherlands.
The federation said the advance payment was aimed at ensuring players and officials remain financially secure during the tournament and are able to focus fully on their preparations and performances at the global event.
Along with the daily allowance, the PHF has completed arrangements for Pakistan’s World Cup participation, including international air travel, accommodation, meals, local transportation, training facilities, logistics support and the transportation of playing equipment.
PHF President Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani said the welfare of players and coaches was the federation’s top priority and that all necessary financial and logistical measures had been completed before the team’s departure.
“Our players and coaches should focus only on their game. The federation has ensured that all arrangements are in place before departure,” Wani said.
He added that the advance payment demonstrated the federation’s commitment to providing the national team with the best possible facilities as Pakistan prepares to compete at hockey’s biggest international stage.
The PHF expressed confidence that the measures would help raise the team’s morale and allow players to perform at their highest level during the World Cup.
The federation also acknowledged the support of sponsors, stakeholders and the Government of Pakistan for their continued assistance in strengthening preparations for the national team’s participation in the tournament.
Pakistan will compete among the world’s leading hockey nations at the 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup, which will be hosted jointly by Belgium and the Netherlands.
