The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast hot and dry weather across most districts of Sindh over the next 24 hours, with a severe heatwave persisting in several rural areas where temperatures are hovering between 47°C and 50°C.

PMD officials said on Sunday that mainly hot and dry conditions will prevail province-wide.

However, south-eastern districts are likely to see partly cloudy skies, with chances of rain, wind or thunderstorms at isolated places in Shaheed Benazirabad, Dadu, Larkana, Jacobabad and surrounding areas.

Karachi recorded a maximum temperature of 36°C with 62% relative humidity on Sunday, keeping the coastal city relatively milder compared to interior Sindh.

The Met Office warns that a severe heatwave continues to grip rural districts. Day time temperatures in these areas are ranging between 47°C and 50°C raising risks of dehderation and heatstroke.

Authorities have advised citizens, especially the elderly, children and outdoor workers, to stay hydrated, avoid direct sun exposure during peak hours, and take precautionary measures as the intense heat is expected to persist in the coming days.
