ISLAMABAD:

The federal government has made a key advance in preparations for the 2026-27 federal budget by convening a meeting of the Annual Plan Coordination Committee (APCC) on June 1 to review the next fiscal year’s development budget, economic targets and development priorities.

According to sources, the APCC meeting will be chaired by Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal and will focus on proposals relating to the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) and macroeconomic targets for the upcoming fiscal year.

Sources said a proposal to allocate Rs1.126 trillion for the PSDP in FY2026-27 will come under consideration. The committee is also expected to recommend a GDP growth target of 4% for the next fiscal year.
