Two terrorists belonging to the Fitna al-Hindustan were killed in an intelligence based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Palantak in Washuk district, state broadcaster PTV reported on Monday.

According to PTV, security forces conducted a successful IBO in the area, killing the two terrorists under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna. The slain terrorists, according to the security sources, were involved in the attack on Mashkhel police station and the Customs House.

During the operation, the terrorists’ vehicle was destroyed while heavy weapons and ammunition were recovered. “The recovered weapons and ammunition were to be used in target killings of unarmed Baloch people and terrorist activities,” PTV said.

According to the state broadcaster, “Security forces’ operations will continue until the complete elimination of Fitna al-Hindustan‘s terrorists from Balochistan.”

The federal government last year officially designated all terrorist groups operating in Balochistan as Fitna al-Hindustan, accusing India of sponsoring a proxy war through these outfits.

On August 21, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that, in coordination with police, 49 terrorists were killed in a series of “high-tempo” IBOs across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) and Balochistan over the preceeding few days.

Balochistan accounted for 37 of the slain terrorists, who were backed by the Fitna Al Hindustan. They were killed in IBOs conducted in Mastung, Mach, Khuzdar and the Panjgur districts. The operations also resulted in the seizure and destruction of “significant quantity” of weapons, explosive drums and remote-detonation equipment.

In a targeted operation conducted a week ago in Killi Soran, Panjgur, security forces killed five Fitna al-Hindustan terrorists while several others were injured. The terrorists were reportedly travelling on motorcycles to carry out a terrorist activity when they were targeted using modern technology.

Earlier, on August 18, that security forces had killed more than nine terrorists in IBOs across Ziarat, Harnai and Surab districts of Balochistan, under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-3.

Just two days prior, seven terrorists were killed and several others were wounded during an IBO conducted by security forces in Kharan.

Terrorism is a growing problem for Pakistan, with the number of attacks rising every year since 2022, according to Armed Conflict Location & Event Data (ACLED), a global monitoring organisation. Data from ACLED shows attacks in Pakistan rose nearly fourfold to 2,425 in 2025 from 658 in 2022.

Although K-P has borne the brunt of terrorism, Balochistan has also remained a major target of Indian proxies, which often target civilians and military installations in the province.
