ISLAMABAD:

Adviser to the Finance Minister Khurram Schehzad on Tuesday announced that Pakistan had launched the process for a US dollar benchmarked dual-tranche Eurobond that will offer papers for five-year and 10-year tenors, subject to market conditions.

In a statement posted on his official X account, the adviser said the transaction marked another important step in Pakistan’s renewed access to international capital markets, following successive sovereign credit rating upgrades, stronger macroeconomic fundamentals and improved investor confidence.

He said the proposed offering, covering long maturities for five years and 10 years, reflected Pakistan’s growing engagement with global investors and its efforts to rebuild a sustainable presence in international capital markets. “Stability, confidence, global market access,” Schehzad remarked, while highlighting the sequence of developments underpinning the country’s return to global financial markets.

The latest move follows Pakistan’s return to the international capital market in April 2026, when it raised $500 million through a three-year Eurobond under its Global Medium-Term Note (GMTN) Programme after a four-year gap.
