The country’s women overcome Thailand 55-50 in Hong Kong final, secure qualification for Cup Division
Pakistan women’s netball team defeated Thailand 55-50 in the final of the Asian Netball Championship 2026 plate division, securing the title and earning qualification for the Cup Division.
The next Asian Netball Championship will be held in Singapore in 2028.
Pakistan maintained their composure throughout the final and combined effective teamwork with disciplined execution to finish five goals ahead of Thailand. The 55-50 victory capped an impressive campaign and gave Pakistan another significant achievement on the Asian netball stage.
Among those who made important contributions to Pakistan’s campaign were Saba Noor Anwar, Maya, Lia Raza Shah, Hina Chaudhry, Serena Naseem, Jasmine, Farah, Noor-ul-Ain and Samaya Safdar.
The success also carries significance beyond the title itself, as Pakistan’s triumph has earned the national women’s team a place in the Cup Division at the 2028 Asian Netball Championship, scheduled to be held in Singapore.
Earlier on Friday Pakistan had defeated Japan in the semi-final to book their seat in the final.
