Maliha Shah, Danish Sikandar and Atif Ali Naz Crowned Champions; Qamar Zaman Graces Closing Ceremony

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Junior Squash Championship 2026 concluded in Peshawar Sports Complex with Maliha Shah claiming the girls’ Under-15 title, Danish Sikandar winning the boys’ Under-15 crown and Atif Ali Naz emerging champion in the boys’ Under-11 category.
Squash legend Qamar Zaman was the chief guest at the closing ceremony and distributed prizes among the players. He was accompanied by Buraq Builders Chief Executive Ali Haider Babakhel, Provincial Squash Association Secretary Finance Wazir Muhammad, senior squash coach and chief organiser Munawar Zaman, and squash coach Muhammad Waseem.
In the boys’ Under-11 final, PAF’s Atif Ali Naz defeated Anas Rafai 11-9, 11-9, 12-10 to clinch the title.
In the boys’ Under-15 final, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Danish Sikandar overcame PAF’s Ayan Mahboob 11-6, 11-4, 11-7 to win the championship. In the girls’ Under-15 final, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Maliha Shah beat her provincial teammate Parkha Ahmad 1a1-5, 6-11, 11-9, 11-9 to secure the title.
Addressing the ceremony, Qamar Zaman said the provincial squash association has always focused on junior players.
Alongside senior events, junior competitions are organised regularly to identify new talent at the grassroots level and provide them opportunities to progress. He added that the championship offered young squash players of the province an excellent platform to showcase their skills and compete in a provincial-level competitive environment.
On the occasion, Buraq Builders CEO Ali Haider Babakhel said Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has always produced great squash players who have brought glory to Pakistan at the international level. He announced that more squash events would be organised in future in collaboration with the provincial squash association to give young players greater opportunities to display their talent.
