Bangladesh cricket authorities have charged three individuals, including a former board director, with breaching provisions of the International Cricket Council’s anti-corruption code over their involvement in last season’s Bangladesh Premier League.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board’s integrity unit announced the charges on Tuesday as part of its wider investigation into corruption allegations surrounding recent editions of the BPL.

Former BCB director Mukhlesur Rahman is among those charged, alongside former board security liaison officer Zakir Hasan and BCB councillor Rakibul Islam Sunny.

Rahman faces four charges, including an allegation under Article 2.1.1 concerning fixing or attempting to improperly influence the result, progress or conduct of a match in the 12th edition of the BPL.

The integrity unit began investigating Rahman in January after a report by journalist Riasad Azim was published on Facebook. Rahman resigned from his BCB position after the report emerged.

He had been appointed audit committee chairman by BCB president Aminul Islam after the board elections on October 6.

The latest charges follow action against four other individuals announced by the BCB in May as part of the same corruption probe.

Among those was Saminur Rahman, who was associated with Chattogram Royals during the 2025-26 BPL. He was subsequently handed a lifetime ban for betting-related activities and other offences.

The investigation comes as BCB president Tamim Iqbal has questioned whether the BPL should continue in its current format.

The integrity unit is headed by Alex Marshall and includes a team of investigators, while Barrister Mahin M Rahman serves as its general counsel.

The BCB did not disclose further details of the latest charges or indicate when disciplinary proceedings would conclude.
