RAWALPINDI:

The Federal Education Board has launched an inquiry after a man was caught impersonating a student who has been living abroad for years during a matriculation examination.

The accused, identified as Nazar, a resident of Taxila, allegedly arranged a fraudulent admission for the overseas student and appeared in the exam in his place.

Officials said cases have previously been registered against Nazar at the Rawalpindi Board for similar offences, and he has been declared an absconder.

The incident occurred at Islamabad Model School for Boys, I-9/4, which was designated as an examination centre. The candidate is reportedly abroad, but his admission was submitted through fraudulent means.

Nazar was caught appearing in his place. Exam staff detained three individuals involved in impersonation but later released them.
