A body of an unidentified man was recovered from the BRB Canal on Friday.

A specialised diving team retrieved the body from the canal after being alerted to the incident.

The deceased appeared to be a man aged around 45 years, officials said, adding that his identity could not be immediately ascertained.

The body has been handed over to police for further legal action and identification.

Authorities are expected to initiate an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
