The Sindh government has taken a major step against land encroachments, illegal occupations, and public complaints.

In the fourth meeting of a specially formed committee with Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lnjar in the chair, various measures to protect citizens, traders, and the business community from land grabbers, encroachment mafias, and illegal occupations were reviewed.

Officials presented a progress report, stating that a total of 23 cases had been brought before the committee, of which four have been successfully resolved, while the remaining were discussed in detail with directives issued for their early resolution.

Addressing the meeting, Lanjar said the committee was established to provide relief to traders, investors, and the public from land grabbers. He directed that cases involving illegal occupation should be registered immediately and those responsible must be arrested without delay.

He emphasised that land mafias would not be tolerated under any circumstances, as they not only usurp citizens’ rights but also hinder the province’s economic growth. He added that resolving the issues of the business community, protecting investment, and ensuring a conducive business environment remain top priorities of the provincial government.
