China’s Guangdong men’s hockey team will visit Pakistan for an 18-day tour from October 12 to October 30, playing a series of matches against leading institutional sides as well as Pakistan’s Under-21 and Under-18 teams, the Pakistan Hockey Federation 9PHF) said.

The tour will take the Chinese side to Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Wah Cantt, Narowal, Lahore and Gojra, with the first match scheduled for October 14 against MPCL at the MPCL Hockey Stadium in Rawalpindi.

Guangdong will then face Pakistan Army, Navy, Police, PDC, Pakistan Customs and Rangers during the tour.

The programme will also give Pakistan’s younger players international exposure, with Guangdong facing Pakistan Under-21 in Gojra on October 26 and Pakistan Under-18 in Lahore a day later.

The Chinese team will arrive on October 12, while the tour will officially begin with a welcome dinner on October 13.

PHF President Mohiuddin Ahmed Wani said the visit would strengthen hockey ties between Pakistan and China while providing valuable international experience to young Pakistani players.

The Guangdong delegation will return to China on October 30.
