The Punjab government has issued a recall alert for several batches of a medicine after the provincial Drug Testing Laboratory declared the product substandard.
According to Public Notice No. 133/2026, issued by the Directorate of Drug Control Punjab (DDCP), the recall follows findings by the Drug Testing Laboratory, Punjab.
The notice applies to batches 38126, 37826, 37726, and 37926 of film-coated tablets containing Citraclor (Cetirizine Dihydrochloride) 10mg, registered under Reg. No. 085818. All four batches have an expiry date of March 2028.
The manufacturer and distributors have been instructed to immediately recall the affected batches from pharmacies and other points of sale.
Authorities have also been directed to trace the product’s distribution, provide complete distribution details, and submit corrective and preventive action plans to the relevant drug inspectors.
Healthcare providers, pharmacies, wholesalers and distributors have been told to stop dispensing the affected batches and report any remaining stock to local drug inspectors.
Regulatory officials have also been instructed to strengthen surveillance across the pharmaceutical supply chain.
