KARACHI:

The Pakistan Stock Exchange remained in positive territory by mid-day on Thursday, with the KSE-100 Index trading at 174,533.28, up 103.36 points or 0.06 percent from the previous close of 174,429.92.

The benchmark index opened higher and touched an intra-day high of 175,237.59 before retreating to a low of 174,144.11.

Trading activity was moderate, with volume reaching 60.14 million shares and traded value standing at Rs3.52 billion by the time of reporting.

Market status remained open as investors adopted a cautious stance amid mixed cues. The session so far has been characterised by range-bound movement, with the index fluctuating within a relatively narrow band after the early gains.

Brokers noted that activity remained selective, with limited participation from institutional players. The modest advance reflected profit-taking at higher levels after the index approached the intra-day peak earlier in the session.

As of mid-day, the market showed resilience but lacked strong momentum, leaving the direction of the closing session dependent on further developments and sector-specific flows.
