The naval chief said this during an address to the participants of the 55th Pakistan Navy Staff Course during his visit to the Pakistan Navy War College in Lahore, a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) noted.

Emphasising the new trends in warfare, the naval chief acknowledged the importance of a technologically proficient and intellectually capable military workforce.

Highlighting the ‘evolving character’ of modern conflicts and emerging maritime security challenges, he stressed the importance of ‘adaptive strategies’ to effectively address both conventional and non-conventional threats.

Speaking on the occasion, Admiral Ashraf also reaffirmed Pakistan Navy’s commitment to innovation and indigenisation. He also vetted unity among the factions of the armed services.

He urged the course participants to strengthen their strategic understanding and operational foresight to meet future security challenges.

“The Indian Ocean region remains fluid and contested,” the maritime chief underscored, stressing the shifting geopolitical dynamics and power rivalries impacting the regional security environment.
