Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Foreign Minister (FM) Ayman Safadi on Sunday spoke with FM Ishaq Dar and appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role and continued efforts for peace.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two leaders discussed the evolving regional situation and exchanged views on efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.

The statement added that Jordan “appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role and continued efforts for peace, dialogue, and regional stability in the context of ongoing tensions in the region.”

“FM Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting constructive engagement among all parties in support of stability and the peaceful resolution of conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy,” it said.

The ministry added that the two leaders also reaffirmed the strong bilateral relations between Pakistan and Jordan and underscored the importance of continued cooperation at bilateral and multilateral forums.

“Both sides agreed to remain in close contact,: read the statement.

Dar has continued to receive international recognition for his diplomatic leadership as Pakistan has positioned itself at the centre of high-stakes mediation efforts during the ongoing conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran.

Hosting the “Islamabad Talks” in early April, which ended with no breakthrough, Pakistan has continued its diplomatic efforts, engaging with leaders across the Gulf and beyond.

A day earlier, FM Dar spoke with Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah and discussed the evolving regional situation and exchanged views on its wider economic implications.

FM Dar underscored Pakistan’s continued efforts to promote constructive engagement and diplomacy in support of peace and stability in the region and beyond.

On April 27, FM Dar held separate telephonic conversations with the foreign ministers of the United Kingdom, Canada, and Egypt, discussing developments regarding the regional situation and emphasising the importance of diplomacy for peace.

Three days later, European Union Vice President Kaja Kallas also spoke with Dar and appreciated Pakistan’s continued constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability.
