However, Khan’s profile was reinstated after 30 minutes, shutting down the wave of rumours.

The Tiger Zinda Hai actor has not issued any statement on the matter, nor has his team. It remains unclear whether the account disappearance was a technical glitch, if the star had temporarily deactivated it, or if it was a brief hacking attempt.

The short and unusual disappearance quickly became a major talking point. Khan is one of India’s biggest stars, with more than 72 million followers on Instagram. The incident came days after Khan reportedly lost his temper with photographers outside a hospital in Mumbai when he went to visit an ailing family member.
