ISLAMABAD:
A fire broke out at three separate points in the Margalla Hills behind Sector F-5, prompting a large-scale response from the district administration, with more than 65 personnel engaged in firefighting operations.
Officials said strong winds spread the fire to multiple locations, complicating efforts by rescue and firefighting teams. The district administration confirmed that personnel remained actively deployed at all affected sites to contain the blaze and prevent further spread across the hills.
According to authorities, challenging wind conditions have slowed down operations and restricted access to certain areas. However, teams are working continuously to bring the situation under control and minimise damage.
As a precautionary measure, all hiking trails in the Margalla Hills have been temporarily closed. Citizens have been advised to avoid visiting the area until the firefighting operation is fully completed.
The district administration urged the public to cooperate with emergency services and stay away from the hills to ensure smooth and uninterrupted rescue efforts, warning that shifting wind patterns could further escalate the risk of fire spread.
Officials said monitoring of the affected zones is ongoing and further updates will be issued once the fire is completely extinguished.
